Note in the ad that Mssrs. Benswanger & Hast are specialists in whisky insurance.  Curious this.  The Whisky Rebellion was fomented in western Pennsylvania by local distillers, many revolutionary war vets, who thought they were being taxed without representation.  I can't imagine the desire for insurance for whisky was a holdover from more than 100 years before.  I wonder why they sold, and people bought, whisky insurance?
